My son had and endoscopy Sept. 11th and was diagnosed with having the eosinophilc esophogus disese (disease), we did find out that we were feeding him many foods that he was allergic to, so we did our best and removed a lot of food items, and he is on 4 meds. 2 times a day. So it is now Dec. 18th and he had his second endoscopy and the results were great! So now my question would be How long should he be on all these meds? And at what point do you start trying to give him back some of these allergic foods ? Will he be considered to have this disease even after his results turned out great!?? This disease seems to me new to a lot of Dr's. THank You Wendy
While I can't speak about the meds, as far as food allergies are concerned, working with an allergy specialist would generally be the best route. Maybe immunotherapy can work for him in order to reduce or eliminate these allergies. Until that time, don't introduce any foods to which he's allergic.
