testing and eradication

by buddyfan, Sep 05, 2001 12:00AM
My mother had a total gastrectomy for stomach cancer, last year, and my grandfather died of stomach cancer.
I have read of many connections made between h-pylori and stomach cancer. Also that it can be caught early in age and remains in the system. However I also heard that it can be tested for and eradicated by antibiotics and that it rarely returns. Obviously my sister and I feel this is something we should check out. Has anyone got any more info on how to get it tested and treated, we are uk based.
Thanks
