i was recently diagnosed with ulcerative procitus. for some strange reason, cortifoam didn't seem to work. however, when i was prescribed cortifoam, my doctor had given me free samples of casana, a mesalamine suppository, and the blood stopped within 1 day. this was comforting, as i was worried i had a misdiagnosis- 2 doctors told me i had hemroids before seeing a gasterologist- so finally something stopped the bleeding! however, i dont have the typical symptoms of bloody
, blood, constipation (bowel movements not in large of quantity), and gross mucusy stuff...that is mostly gone now.i am pretty normal, i have regular bowel movements now, but it isn't the same. you know how you can sit down to take a bowel movement, it can come out in chunks (ie, you sit there with a magazine for a few minutes and wait for everything to come out?) well, i can't do it now. it comes out in one long continuous form and then nothing else comes out. it's like i dont have an ability to push again once my original push comes out. i' tried explaining this to my doctor but his only advise was "have lots of fiber and drink lots of fluids, fruits, veggies." well i do that already! i just think it's weird i don't have control over the pushing of my bowel movements any more. has anyone else with any form of ulcerative colitus experienced this? or have any explanation for this? thanks
