umbilical hernia repair

Has anyone had laprascopic umbilical herina repair with mesh?  I had mine done a little over 3 weeks ago.  Everyone said it would be a "piece of cake."  It definately wasn't the worst pain I've ever experienced, but I wouldn't describe it as a "piece of cake" either.  I've developed an infection in the top incision site (where one of the scopes were inserted) and also a build-up of blood clots/fluid in the area where the hernia was (I don't know what the medical name of this condition is.) My surgeon said I could have a minor procedure done to remove this buildup, or wait a while and see if it goes away on its own.  I asked if it was dangerous and he said no, so I opted to wait a month and see where we are.  I'm on antibiotics to clear/prevent further infection.  I'm wondering if anyone else has had any of these problems and how they resolved.  Thanks!
