from. While at the car wash was sitting outside chatting with a lady until they called for me to get my car. When I stood up and walk a few feet I felt a cramp and a sensation like I was going to have diarrhea. I ran to my car and could feel it oozing out so I got a towel from my console and sat on it until I could make it to the nearest restroom. The diarrhea kept coming every few minutes and continued until I walked into the place where the reunion was being held. It stopped until we arrived back home. I was up all night and for the next two days it was coming every 10 to 15 minutes. By the third day it stopped and I went back to work. I worked for two days then on the third day I got to work and was chatting with a co worker when I felt another "cramp". I went to the bathroom and was able to produce a small amout of waste that was solid. I went back to my office and withing 5 minutes I got another A"cramp" so I bolted to the restroom. That time I was able to relieve myself and the stool was pretty normal. I went back to my office and started visiting with a co-worker and within 5 more minutes I felt nauseated and he said I turned white as paper. I left work at that time went home and had another run of diarrhea for 5 days straight. Frequent watery diarrhea with small amounts of whatever in it. Sometimes yellow
, sometimes green, sometimes brown. I went to the doctor and he prescribed metronidazole 500mg and Diphenoxylate/Atropine 2.5mg. I took the meds as directed and it took 4 days to get any results. I am writing because this is not the first time this has happened. It is just the first time it has happened that it has lasted so long.
It has happened two other times and both times I was in the process of doing something that could have caused me to be a little nervous. Is nervousness a cause of uncontrollable diarrhea? I felt like nothing was absorbing, just going from mouth to rectom.
Nerves can cause this, but I don't think to this extreme. You need to see a Gastroenterologist and get it checked out to make sure there isn't more going on.
