upper gi series vs. abd ct scan

would an abd. ct scan show the same as anupper gi series?  is there anything the upper gi series would show that the abd. ct scan with contrast would not show?  Thank you in advance for your help.

why would dr. request brain scan after upper gi series?  there was chest pain and occasional vomiting.  patient was told of ascending aortic aneurysm of 4.4 and had 64 ct scan.  was o.k.  patient has reflux controlled by prevacid 2x/day.  sometimes has difficulty swallowing. what would a brain scan reveal about reflux or diverticulosis?
