urq cronic pain

by turtle01, May 22, 2009 07:55PM
Hopefully someone can help me. I have had pain in my urq for over 10 years Ive had every test ( 3 ultrasound, catscans,MRI,empting scan, 3 ercp ,4 hida scans many blood test) all negative The only thing I was told is on the first ERCP was my main bile ducts was closed so they cut it open & placed a stent. A week later I went back to get the stent removed. I was pain free for a year. When the pain start again They told me I need another ERCP. This time my pancreatic bile duct was closed. They again cut it open & placed a stent in it. In result of the ERCP I got mild to serve pannreatitis. Was hopitalized for 7 days. I then went back & had the stent removed. This time I was feeling good for over 2 years. This past feb I started getting the same pains. My doctor wanted me to get another ERCP. I am very nervous about getting another ERCP because of my odds of getting panreatitis. So I decided to get a second opinion. the new doctor says there is no way I need the last two ERCP. They referred me to the university of Michigan Functional GI Dept. who also agree I should NOT get anymore ERCP. I was recetly hospitalized due to serve URQ pain. Where I was told I due need another ERCP. I'm now getting a MRCP done next week.  I don't know what to do PLEASE HELP??
