vagus nerve problem

I developed sinusitis from allergies in May and was given Cipro 500 mg 2x daily for 7 days.  This did not clear up my symptoms. At the advice of my PCP, I saw an ENT. He confirmed that I had sinusitis and possible acid reflux.  He prescribed Leviquin 700 mg. 1 daily for 7 days.  This cleared up the problem.  However, shortly after, I developed severe gastric distress.  It started in my stomach, lower bowel and I felt it also in my back.  I have diverticulosis which was confirmed after a colonoscopy in Aug. 2008.  I have suffered with IBS for many years and take Librax or Bentyl for the problem.  I started taking Librax and it did not take away the gas.  I then took Phazyme 2 pills daily.  This helped my gas problem but then when I would go to bed I would experience a tightening spasm in my upper stomach and it would radiate into my both arms. It would last for a few seconds and then release.  It scared the heck out of me as I thought I was having a heart attack. I went to my PCP for my annual physical last week and  I mentioned it to him and he said it was a related to my Vagus nerve.  He did an EKG and it was normal. I believe that this started as a result of the antibiotics.  By the way, I do not have this problem when I am up and about during the day.  Will this ever go away?
