what could this be???

i am 48 years old and have been diagnosed with anemia. i am awaiting to go to hospital for a camera down my throat to check my insides. my joints hurt, back ache and have not had a period for 4 months, i have been tested to see if i'm going through the menopause and results came back negative. also gave me a pregnancy test too (came back negative). if anyone can help me would really appreciate it as i am very worried.

you might want to try the thyroid forum to see if they can answer the question on no periods. Weight change, stress and exercise can also contribute to the issue.

I was anemic. The doctor prescribed Iron pills or liquid and acid folic, but I had to have iron 2 weeks in the row. Be careful not to take to much iron. hope this could help.

Hi - perhaps at the same time you should ask for a colonoscopy in case you are bleeding (slowly) from the lower intestine which might cause anaemia.

Have your stools been tested for blood and/or melena?
