what should be done for regular unsatisfactory stools being exit from the body?

Its being like an ages now, I am facing chronic constipation in which the only problem with me is unsatisfactory stools daily . I eat vegetarian diet being from northern part of india, i eat wheat chapathi and home made vegetables containing enough vitamins and minerals,, needed for my body  and alos have curd in my lunch diet. In the mrning i drink enough of water usually warm . And after lunch i eat usually fibre diet like legumes, beans and one cucumber during post lunch . Even dinner is jus 2 chappaties and one vegetables and nothing else . But drink water alot ,
whats the result , i am facing insuffiecent stools
I have taken so many remedies whether its allopathy like took dupholac and ( issab ghol) for a month, in the beginning jus for 5 days it went well, but after agan the problem started ,, then i switch to homopethic they told me to eat fibres I used to fibres in terms of cereals , cucumber and fruits like promogenate, papaya , but nothing happening all worked for small time . With all these things happening around I also went for yoga daily for an hour where generally stomach exercises are being done on me.. it worked for time being after then nothing happened . Seeing all these I was frustrated went to ayurvedic treatment , they gave me mild laxatives and churans ... it has worsned my condition now, still getting unsatisfactory stools with stomach bloating , sometimes gas and heavyness in stomach. Last option is left with me enema... I am confused should i take it or nt , bcoz i tried it in januray 2012 and it wrked half way so again taking enema will solve my problem .
Or what shuld i do, dcter says my intestine is normal , as being through barium enema and the result was normal , so what shoudl i do now ...
I am frustrated , irritated ... please if anyone has solution help me out.. thanks

Oh, I think you answered by saying you stopped the laxatives and such that made you worse.  As long as you're not getting worse, then you're good with whatever herbs you're taking.  I hope you're getting enough water, eating enough food in general, to include more fiber stuff (vegies, salad).  Let us know how you are in a week or so.

Thanks for your comment .Firstly , my health is not good , as it used to be when i first wrote the comments over here .Due to some mistakes which i created like taking herbs laxatives and purgatives , given by the doctors , which led my intestine very weak and dry . Now since a month i have stopped taking the laxatives and purgatives instead , taking the allovera juice which 1% can be said helped me uptill now . At the same time , from last 4 days i have started taking probiotics , so lets see, waiting fr the results yet to come .
Meanwhile , i dnt  get the last line of yours which u wrote . I am taking herbal medicines as well along with aloverajuice and probiotics.. but keeping time duration . So dnt get whether these things will cause another problem or not? please tell
Thanks

ADITI, The probiotics, you only need to take them for a couple weeks, altho more won't hurt you.  It's just the benefits will begin to work after two weeks.  I've heard of aloe vera being good for digestion, hope it helps you.  Tell us, if you have time and want to, what you have changed with your eating from when you first posted, and if you are drinking extra water than before, and how you are feeling.  Oh, and I wonder if there is something like vitamins or herb/homeopathic type mixture or medicine you might be taking as an extra thing that could be causing problems.  GG

Oh, yes, probiotics are VERY good for you.  They help break down waste and keep the intestinal flora balanced.  To prevent the dryness you mention, drink six glasses of water daily.

Also, you should try to eat enough food to have enough waste to pass.  Spagetti is low-fat and easy to digest, salads are good fiber, any vegies, wheat bread if you can get it, fish is a low-fat meat to eat, and chicken is okay a couple times a week, eggs have fat in them but a couple times a week are very good for you in general, and since milk is a problem, you can get some "rice milk" at a health food store and drink that with a wheat cereal like cream of wheat or wheat chex or shredded wheat with sugar.  Try only eating fruits as a snack, becuz with a meal they can cause gas.

I might add that regular exercise like long walks or biking is good for the digestion, strenghtens the core tummy muscles.  Now, you say you cannot digest "heavy" things, which if you eat a hamburger from a fast-food place, or eat a steak, this will indeed lay in the digestive tract and not move as well.  I would also suggest sometime in the evening an hour maybe before bedtime, you try drinking an alka seltzer, it's over-the-counter, it's now called "Original Alka Seltzer," and it will release gas overnight that may have built up, see if it helps your "heavy" full feeling, so you can eat more food.  Also, do not wait all day long for a meal; rather try to eat three times a day.  If you wait too long between meals, gas can build up and make it hard to eat enough food.

Keep us posted, we really want you to get better.

JAIN, I wrote TWO posts on July 10, the first one had the suggestions you seemed to be asking for all over again on July 11.  It occurred to me later that you may have missed reading what I wrote after you answered all the questions I asked you.  Let us know how what changes helped you, if any, and if you have time as you try to fix your digestion in the next week or so.  GG

I do not know of any permanent fix for your problem, other than to settle on a diet of foods that you find agree with you.  Many people have, for example, diabetes and they have to stick to a specific diet of certain foods or they'll get sick, and it's lifelong.  Doctors may have medicines.  I think in general your allergy to milk is what goofed you up when you were a child, and having constipation for ten-plus years was hard on your intestines, and so you just plain have digestion problems.  But remember, each time you've modified what you eat in a significant way, you've gotten better and better.

You know, you can take some herbs with you wherever you go when you travel, and just sprinkle it on your food.  You can look online for other herbs, too, than what I have given, using search terms like, "Herbs for gas."  And as I said, don't worry about not all of your waste coming out each time; it'll come out the next day.  As you drink even more water, include anti-gas items, and eating a salad daily, you SHOULD notice a good improvement again.  Really eating a salad shouldn't be impossible when you travel!  I mean, if you're going to get fast food, they will nearly always at least give you lettuce, tomato and onion as a "side," if you simply ask for it, and french fries are okay, and so are the various apple turnovers and such.  If you have a Subway sandwich place when you travel or get fast food, they have "vegetable" sub sandwiches, where they don't put meat, and you can ask them to hold the cheese, since I imagine it being a milk product, it may not agree with you.

What you have is challenging, but not impossible to deal with.  When I got to be an older person, I had endless digestive troubles, I have IBS, and I had to change a lot of what I eat to where my digestion is almost normal most of the time.  For example, I always thought eating prunes was for old people.  Well, it is!  I AM old!  Hopefully you can find a similar food that is easy to get ahold of and you can eat daily and it will help your digestion, and when you travel, bring a plastic container and put it in there to take with you.  Like in school, we brought our lunches, and some places I've worked, I brought my lunch.  Some people bring their bottled water with them everywhere they go.  I wish I knew more about the many, many foods and herbs that would help your digestion, but I only know what I know.  That's why I suggested you check online for anti-gas stuff, maybe you could also find low-fat foods and make a list of stuff you like and try to choose those items to eat, and see if you can eat wheat... there is creme of wheat cereal that is very good for digestion.

Maybe someone else will join this thread now and offer some more help.  Best wishes to you.  GG

Oh, and just so you do not misunderstand me, keep right on eating the foods and everything else the same, other than the additions or subtractions I suggest.  Because, as you already know, the vegies and fruits you already eat are very good for a person with digestion problems.  Also, you do not need to eat large amounts of my little list of things that will stop gas.  Instead, alternate around what you like, once a week a side of potatoes, a few cut tomatoes a couple times a week, different herbs other days, that sort of thing.  GG

Thank you so much, JAIN, for dutifully submitting to my endless questions!  I think I understand you MUCH better now and can advise you.  My understanding now is when you were young, you were constipated, only went once or twice a week.  Then you began in your teens with some herbal and juice remedies, and this improved the situation.  Now you go daily, but sometimes it doesn't feel like everything came out, and in fact most likely it didn't all come out, and this creates an unease, bloating, and sometimes acne.

So, here are a few things I know will help you.  I think you should continue to avoid milk and milk products.  Also, if you drink carbonated sodas, stop doing that. The acne thing is the skin will be too oily if there's too much fat in the body, so avoid fast foods becuz they are loaded with fat, and not too much butter or cooking oils, altho olive oil is usually okay.  Since oats bother you, I wonder if wheat would work instead, and if so, whole wheat bread is good for you.

These are the things that break down gas:
Pumpkin, potatoes, tomatoes
Ginger or peppermint tea
Rosemary, basil, cloves, or dill as spices
Lemon juice

You can squeeze some lemon juice on a dark green leafy salad, instead of salad dressing or oil.  That salad, every day, would help you a lot, as I have mentioned before.  Also, every day, you must drink even more water than you are now.  Recommended is six normal-sized glasses of water daily, so drink a glass of water with each meal, and then three more during the daytime hours.

I can tell you one bit of practical advice, and it's sort of a mental exercise, but it works.  Hopefully, of course, these things will change soon.  But in the meantime, when you go and have a bowel movement, once it is finished whatever it's going to do, then just stop thinking about the little that's left and forget about it completely.  Because, you see, no need to be concerned that a little waste is still trapped in your gut, for it will surely come out the next day!  Just put it out of your mind rapidly.  Focus on life as it occurs.  And as sure as the sun rises and set, that little bit that's left will come out the very next day, first thing!  Smile.

Next time you see your doctor, would you please ask him to prescribe "probiotic" pills to you, or ask where you can get some pills.  We have them in our health food or organic food stores and many grocery stores.  But I don't know if they are available to you.  You should take one each day for a couple weeks, no more.  In this manner, you do not have to eat yogurt or drink special milk to get the "good" bacteria in you that will help break down waste.  This is not essential, but just see what your doctor says.

I hope some of these tips help, I hope you can use some of them, I hope you notice a change in your digestion very soon.  We all very much want you to succeed, as you have tried so very hard.  GG

Thanks ,, yea no problem here are the answers of your questions
1. My stools are sometimes small and sometimes medium depends on my food intake and water. If i take fruits, vegetables and water in a proper amount, then my stools are wet and small and if its like I dont take water and enough vegetables , then it is dry and hard.
2.Yea, I always have the feeling after the bowel moment that still some stools are left in the body and need to be flush out.
3. Strain, I dnt get the question, but yea, I only go if full pressure comes.
4.Its basically wet and smooth if i take water intake properly.
5 Doctors have different opnions , some says its Irritable vowel syndrome.
some says its habitual constipation and some says that its like my intestine is weak and dry .
6. Its being since birth , earlier till 13-14 years of age , i used to go to washroom once a week or twice to flush out the waste . After that I took herbal medicines and natural juices and soups which some how helped me alot and today like i am 24 and faces insufficient stools flush out problem . Now, I go to washroom daily but I have insufficient stools flushed out and rest being inside the body.
7.A normal wovel moment according to me is such that allow every waste to be flushed out from the body , whatever the person take whether its fast foods , spicy foods , it should flush out from the body .
8.I have the bowel moment but if i take some fast food , or some dairy products or any gaseous food that produce gass in the body, my bowel moment doesnt work properly .
9. The worst thing about it is insufficient stools removal from the body leading to bloating, heaviness in the stomach and acne on my face .
At the same time, during traveling the problem worsens .
Acne generally appears on my face , when i have this problem

It's sort of hard to tell what your problem actually is, just a language barrier, is all, I think.  So, if you will answer each of these questions, perhaps we can help you better:
1.  Are your stools too small?
2.  Do you "feel" like you still have waste leftover inside that should come out after you've had a movement?
3.  Do you strain to go?
4.  Or do you have diarrhea that comes out very loose and watery?
5.  If you could describe your health issue in one sentence, what would a doc perhaps say that you "have"?
6.  How long have you had this health issue?
7.  What would you consider a normal bowel movement?
8.  How does your bowel movement differ from that?
9.  What is the worst thing about your health issue?

Just number and answer, please.  It's the only way we can advise you.  It truly is almost impossible to tell what is wrong with you!  You sound like you're having regular bowel movements, so I'm not sure what you're wanting to change.  Just trying to help.

If I could jump in here for a moment, JAIN.  Have you considered the idea that your waste may be in small amounts, but that's because of the relatively small amount of foods you eat?  You actually do not eat a whole lot of food, but enough to sustain life, so your stools will be smaller as a result.  Perhaps you are not filled with so much waste as you think you are!  Everybody gets kinda gassy, everybody feels their digestion moving at different times, this is the human condition.

On the other hand, perhaps you are meaning that your waste, while it comes once a day, is hard to get out.  If you have to strain to get your bowels to move, then may I suggest you make a salad from leafy vegetables, you should have one every day.  Me, I drink a half cup of coffee every morning with my oat cereal, milk and juice, and that helps me to go easier.

Another thing to think about is if you can think back to when you felt your digestion was normal, and when it became not normal, perhaps something happened in that space of time to cause this.  For example, if a person is given antibiotics by a physician, that will tend to stop them up for a little while, altho you DO go every day, which is fine.  If you can remember taking medicines for a little while there, then try eating yogurt for a few days, it will return the "good bacteria" that are killed along with the "bad" bacteria.  I am assuming you can eat yogurt.  I was an ovo-lacto vegetarian, so I could eat egg and milk products, altho I only ate fresh organic farming types.

What do you mean by insufficient stools exit?  I take that to mean that there is not enough stool exiting your body, but if you are having a bowel movement every day, then this is enough.  Are you only have stools that are very small in volume?  Are you having problems with gas?  Not being able to concentrate on things most likely has nothing to do with this, and I would recommend seeing your doctor about this.
