whats wrong with me???

I have been to the ER 2 times and admitted once for a week. I had several tests done, one showed inticiceptions in my bowel with delayed emptying another showed something wrong with my gallbladder but then another showed the gallbladder to be fine.  I get urinary tract infections and have blood in my urine.  I have constipation and severe stomach and back pain.  My stomach feels like it has a pulse and I vomit alot, there is pain on the right side of stomach up in the middle of my ribs and in the center of my rib cage.  I have been out of work for a month and have lost about 15 pounds. I also have pain in my left side of my back by my rib cage, it gets so bad i cant stand for over five minutes.  it feels like some one has punched me in my ribs and just a very painful indescribable pain in that area wrapping around to the side of my stomach. My lower back down where the butt and back meets is also very painful especially when I lay on my belly. I was told to keep taking my pain meds which takes the edge off but I cant live on meds forever. I had my appendix out 10 yrs ago so thats not the answer.  I go in 3 days to see a surgeon to see if he can figure anything out.  It is so frustrating and I wake up crying in horrible pain...anyone have any answers???  Thank you:)

Well I am getting my gallbladder out tomorrow...what a relief!  While the dr is in there he is going to also check my bowels and intestins to see if he can find anything else that could be causing the pain on my left side.  He said clearly I have gallstones and a thickened gallbladder that is causing my severe pain!  Finally after all this time I cant wait to be on my ay to recovery and feeling better after all these years of pain.

I am really sorry for your pain. From your desription and symptoms, it could be one of many things - from gallbladder - GI disorders - kidney, including bladder.  I sincerely hope the specialist surgeon will come up with some answers.  The wait and see period, the unknown zone, is always the hardest and these times always make me think of someone's nickname, who posts on this site 'cantlivewithoutknowing'   Take the pain killers - I believe the trauma of enduring the pain has far worse implications than not taking the pain killers.  Keep us posted.
