It can simply be a sign of having eaten dairy, or not drinking enough water. Get a tongue scraper, you can scrape it off.
A white coating on the tongue is a sign of Candida overgrowth or Yeast. Stay away from all sugars and products with yeast in them and get to the Health food store and buy Nature's Sunshine Products Candida Clear.
Oh, and I drink Chlorophyll - the stuff works wonders! I'll be taking it for the rest of my life now!!!
I agree with lid44. I have thrush right now as a result of a weakened immune system due to chronic pancreatitis and my doctor gave me medication to take for 10 days - Diflucan. It's still there but getting better every day.
You should think of changing your diet away from refined sugars and fatty foods for awhile. I'm eating sweet potatos, peas, carrots, apples, low-fat yogurt and some soy protein drinks to get the protein the body needs.
Good luck!
This sounds like thrush, a yeast infection characterized by a white tongue. It can be treated with prescription medications from a doctor. Also, theoretically, taking L. Acidophilus supplements or eating yogurt containing L. Acidophilus can help prevent thrush and chronic yeast infections. Eating lots of sugary things can exacerbate the condition.
