Hi,

I believe in solutions.
Garlic which is used daily as a spice in Indian foods has not just Anti-bacterial tendencies, but anti-cholesterol too.

Research that was also aired on Discovery Channel, showed that those who took 4-6 pieces of raw Garlic every morning, showed reduced Cholesterol by up to 30% in Lipid Test done after 4 weeks.

My own father who has history of Cholesterol and even suffered a heart attack back in 1996. Ever since Garlic was introduced raw as pre-breakfast, his Tri-glyceride's seem normal.

Regards.

In the case of the carotid artery, yes. Surgeons don't like to operate on that one because there is a high risk of bleeding out and stroke in any patient of any age. Operation on the carotid artery is considered a last-ditch effort, or something for emergency purposes only. A person can live okay with only one carotid artery open with close doctor supervision.

Other viens and arteries can be operated on. It depends on which one it is. The same thing goes for how long you can survive with the blockage, if at all. The risks you run are part of the blockage breaking off and then re-lodging in another part of the heart (causing cardiac arrest), in the lungs (which can cause a pulminary embolism), or in the brain (which can cause stroke). It really depends on the vein, artery, and the age of the person.

Talk to your doctor and see what he/she wants to do. If you like, get an opinion from a second or even third cardiologist. I would recommend at least a second opinion (that's what I always do for all my surgeries). When you go in, don't let the second doctor know what the first doctor thinks. Give your history and your diagnosis, and then go over treatment options with this second doctor. If you give the opinion of the first cardiologist, there's a high chance that the second (and third) will just agree with the opinions before them, which won't give you the information you need. Also, do a little reasearch on your own. This should help you make your decision.

I wish you all the best! Feel better!
