I just thought of something, here is a link to our Pediatric forum, you may be able to find some answers there as well.

Good luck to you both.
This is a hard one, wait to see what the results are from the doctors test for pin worms, I always thought they were difficult to see with the naked eye. The cranberry will definitely help if it is an infection. It also still sounds to me like a rash that would be helped by medicated powder on the area. Gee, wish I could be of more help. Let me know what the doctor says.
thank you, i did end up taking him to the doctors last night and they think it might be pin worms, but have to wait 3 days for results. when i went to the doctor last night his pee-pee looked ok but this morning it's back to red and sore again and ds said it hurt to pee... i also was told to get benedryll for the itching which i did and the bum area was not as red this morning. did the test for pin worms and didn't see anything which i was told i was supposed to. i am very unsure as to what to do now and what he has. i did get cranberry juice in case he has a bladder infection to help the pee-pee area. any advice would be appreciated!
thank you
Try maybe using a triple antibiotic ointment like Neosporin and also some baby powder on the affected area. The baby powder will help keep moisture away from the area as this could be causing some of the irritation. Also, there are some creams that have aloe in them, this might help to soothe the burn and pain, or better yet, straight aloe vera gel, this can be obtained from a health food store. If none of this helps, I would definitely see a doctor.
