Abdominal pain that won't go away, please help!!

First of all, here's a little background information on me. I was suffering with mysterious symptoms for a little over a year, mostly nausea and other stomach issues, constant lightheadedness, symptoms mimicking low blood sugar, etc. Finally it started getting worse and worse and I was left with major weakness, body aches, inability to eat, etc. and I went to the doctor for the millionth time desperately seeking answers. He said there are really no physical problems that cause the pattern of symptoms I've had and he thought it was anxiety and depression, and prescribed Zoloft. After about a week I started feeling amazing, started exercising, even got my old job back and I finally felt like I had control over my life again.
Last week, I started getting some tightness and pain in my lower stomach, just felt like cramping. I thought it was from eating a lot of junk one day so I ate really healthy foods the next day, but then it was even worse the day after that. Thought it was from too much fiber because I was using the bathroom a lot that morning, no diarrhea, just normal. But the stomach cramps continued throughout the day and I called off work, then the next few days after that I called off too because it just wasn't getting any better. I went to the doctor, just the walk-in clinic at my regular doc's office, and they said PROBABLY IBS but I might need more tests to rule other things out. Or they said it could even be my NuvaRing so I took it out. Yesterday I was feeling even worse so I went back, once again they said probably IBS but ordered a stool culture for h pylori but I have to wait until I've been off Prilosec for 2 weeks before I take it. I had an h pylori blood test about a year ago but it was negative.
Yesterday evening I was feeling very sleepy and had kind of flu-like symptoms, which concerned me a bit because I'd had a temperature of 99.2 at the doctor's office when it usually runs about 98.0. I slept a lot last night, woke up with bad waves of nausea, and woke up feeling really weak. I ate and it made my stomach feel tight and uncomfortable.

Does this sound like anything serious or just typical IBS?

PS  (I hate when I do that - think of something else after I post! LOL)   You say you have a low-grade fever with this.  Did they check you for diverticulitis?  Those "pockets" can become inflamed and infected and feel and act like appendicitis. -  I hope your doctor gets to the bottom of this.  I hate that you feel so bad.

I hope you are feeling better.  Did you go to the doctor's?  What did he say?  I am so sorry you are suffering this way.  I would be interested to find out what he/she prescribed. -  I hate taking Prilosec or Nexium.  They mess up your digestive system and can cause fractures over a long period of time.  - What works for me usually is Milk Thistle or Dicyclomine.  I am trying the Nux Vomica - as I said before I just started taking it recently.  - It seems to help some.

PS  - Zoloft made my daughter "sick".  She said she could "poop through a screen" it was such a watery stool.  Perhaps a different anti-depressant would work better for you.

Could be IBS or GERD or just about anything stomach related.  Did you try simethicone?  Gas X works pretty fast to relieve those symptoms.  For long-term help you might try Nux Vomica from the health food store.  Also, you could ask your doctor for Dicyclomine especially for spasms of the esophagus and stomach.  They work pretty fast, also. -  I've had stomach problems for at least 15 years... even had a fundoplication (surgery where they staple the stomach to the esophagus - don't do it - didn't help). I was desperate to get rid of the stomach pain. - I've only been taking Nux Vomica for a few days and can feel a difference all ready.  Hope this helps you, too.
