Abscess Surgical Scars Getting Irritated

I had an abscess removed a few years ago through surgery/drainage. It has left 2 slight scars that seem to keep getting irritated by my underwear/clothes rubbing against them, and one of them gets irritated during sex (which worried my boyfriend).

When they get irritated they bleed a little bit but there's no pain and it heals again, but my question is, what can I do to prevent the scars from getting irritated by my underwear/sex?

My mother suggested to keep a gauze pad up against them but the gauze pads don't stay put without tape and it's quite a process of getting one on.

Is there an alternative? Or a way of shrinking the incision scars so they'll get irritated less often?

I think you should see the doctor about it, just to be safe.

One of the scars is along the area where your thigh meets your body, and where most panties have an edge to them that irritates it.
The other scar is rarely ever irritated as it's between my buttcheeks.

It's been several years since the surgery and they have not changed in appearance since their original healing, they just get irritated by my underwear/sex and bleed a little for a day or so then go back to "normal".

I'm pretty sure the scars are larger than they should have been due to the dr and my insurance company being cheap, so I'm just trying to figure out how to reduce the irritation so I can lead a somewhat more normal life. It's frustrating and embarassing

It seems like the scars haven't healed correctly, so I would wait for them to heal before you have sex again, because they could very well bleed again.
