Anyone have experience using Meloxicam for Costochondritis?

I've had chest pain on both sides of my chest, just above my sternum for about 2 months. It's recently gotten worse (or perhaps I just feel it more because I'm off opiates now). My doctor said it's Costochondritis and gave me Meloxicam 15mg and said to take one with dinner each day.

Does anyone have any experience with Costochondritis and/or Meloxicam?

I've been taking Meloxicam for my costochondritis for about a month and felt much better. I quit taking it and had a flare up and am now back on it. I hope it works. I just don't want to be on it too long term.

Just wanted to update my own post in case anyone happens across this. I found that the 15 MG Mobic / Meloxicam helped immensely. My chest pain is almost gone - only felt it a few times today. I called the Dr's office and spoke with the nurse and asked her if I could take one in the morning and one at night because it worked great at night, but I started feeling it a little around 1pm (the prescription said 1 with dinner each night). She said no pretty firmly, but said it would be fine when I asked her if I could take half in the morning and half at night. So, tonight I took a half and all is well so far.

I just realized that I think this problem stems from about 2 years ago. I was training in Brazilian JiuJitsu and took a knee to the sternum. I distinctly heard it crack as the sternum separated a little from the cartilage and ribs and then pop back into place. At the time I had a chest x-ray and it didn't show anything. I actually had another chest x-ray today to rule out stuff my hypochondriac mind tells me I have (spontaneous pneumothorax, partially collapsed lung, etc.) and it came back clean. The point being I'm thinking maybe this is the old damage aggravated by some sinus issues I've been having lately.
