Beyond Thin

My sister is so thin and no matter what we do nothing seems to help. I have given her 3 Ensure drinks per day in addition to high calorie meals every day and this seems to not be helping. She has 5 rotted teeth that we are going to have removed hopefully next week. Can this be causing this problem and can you suggest what we can do to get some weight on her.

With the rotting teeth, you may want to check in to bulima. She may be binging and purging. (vomiting) the stomach acids easily rot your teeth! Are her buckles bruised??? If so it could be from sticking her hand down her throat.

As for weight gain, I'm not sure what to say as I myself am struggling with being underweight but feeling the need to be skinnier.
I would say help her to want to gain weight. Don't make her though. That will only make her want to lose more weight.
Also don't be judgeful, don't let her feel like your judging her or looking down on her. I know I feel like my sisters looking down on me because of my issues and it only makes me feel isolated unmoved and want to lose more weight.

So mainly just love her.

Ia she underweight??? Has she always been really skinny???

I know that she is not bindging and purging at all so that is not the problem. She is now in the hospital and they are trying to figure out what is the problem. Thanks for your info. I hope that you are successful in gaining also. Don't make yourself to thin as you will hurt your body and eventually it will be unable to respond or heal itself. Ignore your sisters and take care of yourself.
