Burning sensation and entire body turns red

Hello,

It just happened twice but it is weird. I wake up in the middle of night with little discomfort in abdomen but then suddenly my entire body started burning from inside. Also, feels like thousands of needles are poking all over body. I wake up and saw that my entire body turned red. No rashes... just evenly red. First time I thought it is allergy from food I ate at restaurant previous night. But, it happened again yesterday night ( I had simple regular dinner at home). Again, I had little discomfort in stomach and in five minutes, my entire body turns red and same burning sensation all over my body. Is this something serious? First time I had benedryl and it went away in an hour or so.

Please help!

I get this reaction to certain meds or herbals. Like vitimans. This just began a few years ago, never did anything bother me before. Maybe your having a reaction to something? I would ask a Dr. and have it checked out though.

I definately found some information. Well, it depends on what kind of medication you are on. I am taking Niaspan for cholestoral and these are the side effects of it. When your body have enough of these vitamins, it flushes out of body like this. It is advised by proffessionals to take an aspirin half an hour before taking Niaspan to avoid this flush. In my case, I simply stopped taking Niaspan and seek alternative from my doctor. It is always good to see doctor in such cases. I hope this is helpful to you.

I've had this same reaction 3 different times!  I have on occasion, also vomited.  I ran to my doctors while I still had the rash very early in the am during one outbreak (I knew that the rash would disappear very quickly).  I was told that they thought that it was a winter virus.  I still have no idea what that actually is but, the outbreaks are AWFUL!   During the last nighttime outbreak I was so uncomfortable that I had to take my pj's off.  If you get any further info on this please let me know.  Thanks
