Can scar on eye be removed.

I was a text book forcip delivery.  I have scarring on my right eye.  I can see the outside surroundings, such as trees and flowers in detail.  But when I try to focus on the letters on a eye chart, the best I can get is 20/70 or 20/80.
I have been driving a school bus for 35 years, I am 55 years old.  I had wanted to drive until 65 because I a provided my and my husbands health insurance.  You have to have a 20/40 in each eye to keep you CDL to drive a school bus.  I could not make it.  According to my optomoligst there is nothing that can be done.  Should I seek another opinion, or just give up?

I am assuming you have scarring of your cornea?  Is this correct?  If so, I would get a second opinion.   If not, what and where EXACTLY is the scarring?  Give more details.
