Capsules

Does anyone know if it is ok to release the medicine out of capsules and mix the medicine up in juice? I have a problem swallowing pills and was not sure if this was an option????

it depends on the medication most of them are okay to do this with. try using applesauce if you can. or puddings. it is what we used in our community care home some juices have an effect on some medications. the best thing to do is call your pharmcists to find out if you can do it. and what kind of juice if any can you mix with the medication.

if it's a capsule, I always open it... I can't swallow pills very well either.  I always make sure the dr. who prescribes me medicine knows that I can't swallow them, that way they don't prescribe me an extended release med.  That can be dangerous to crush or break up.
