Chest Pain

Im 16 years old. I've been having bad chest pains, mostly on my sternum. They've been happening randomly for about 8 months. They usually only last for 3 hours but lately they have been getting worse and lasting almost all day. My throat has been tensing up when they happen. What can i do to make them stop?

I would recommend seeing your family doctor.  In the meantime, try looking at your diet.
Do you drink alot of pop? Do you eat alot of fast food or spicy foods (Doritos, Chili Fritos)?  Stop the pop...the carbonation is not good for you and it CAN cause the sensations you are feeling.  BUT...PLEASE be on the safe side and ask your doctor to give you an EKG...very easy, in-office test that measures your heart rate patterns.  Have you been under stress in school this past year?  So many things can cause "chest pain", and its important that you do not ignore serious possibilities...like the basketball star that collapsed on the floor after making the winning shot earlier this year. I am NOT saying your heart is in trouble...but please see your doctor.  It could be as simple as your diet and how you are handling your stress.
I hope you figure out whats going on before summer fun comes. You need to enjoy life, laugh and EAT HEALTHY!!!   :)

How much do you weigh?  this sounds more like a reflux problem than a heart problem!
