Cut Lip

I felt and split my bottom lip open pretty bad, got a couple of stitches. Should I let it dry out to heal or should I keep it hydrated? Right now it's like a bloody scab that I'm just leaving be. I also cut the inside, they put stitches, healing ok I guess, just spongey. Should it be like this? This happened 2 days ago.

hiya leave it dry make sure it is clean it will soon heal that way . if you wet it it stops the scab forming . hope it goes well kay

You could try and put some vasaline or blisex on your lips to keep them hydrated because it is a horrible feeling having your lips all sore and flaky. It could also help with the process of the stitches healing. But if you arent sure so for a quick visit to your local GP and ask if there is anything else you can put on it and also to have a look at your stitches. They sound like they are healling to me.

I would just leave it, but if you want to apply something try triple antibiotic ointment or an antibiotic ointment.
