Cuts, stitches? And scarring..

I am a 15 year old girl and well I'm really clumsy. Yesterday I was running down my stairs, and then I slipped and fell and hit my forehead on the corner of a step. It was bleeding all night on and off. I took advil for the horrible headache I got, and I put a band-aid on it and that's all i've done. It's a pretty deep cut, and probably could use a couple stitches. I am concerned about it leaving a scar if I don't get stitches, and does anyone now how I should heal this?

You can not go to the hospital after the first 12 hours and receive stitches because it has already scabbed, so you can not get stitches. I would not worry about the bleeding, the head bleeds a lot more than any other part of the body. You might want to go to the doctor and see if you have a concussion though, that's what the headaches might be from. I would not recommend playing any contact sports in the mean time because some concussions could be serious! I am not a doctor, just lots of experience. goodluck!
