Ebola outbreak

I remember someone on here posting something about the ebola outbreak in Africa and asking for all of us to please pray for them. In addition to them, lets pray for us too; because they're sending an ebola patient to Atlanta, Georgia for treatment.  Our lives are in the hands of other people right now. Lets hope we can trust them.

A lot of people unfortunatly dont care about that detail. When the cards are on the table everyone just wanta a piece of the pie and dont care about the ones who starve.

Are US citizens who were over there helping. One is a doctor. It is very scary but we do need to continueto pray for them. Not sure if you all knew they are from the US.

Laurenmichelle0425 even though we view things differently, my respect for you just went through the roof with that last comment :-) its nice when people can acknowledge and respect that we all have different opinions on things.

Yeah, i think its good for two people to have a debate, few can without leaving and being able to fry an egg on their head because theyre so heated. Lol i agree that the gov is doing what is best for the gov. Not the people, people will replenish but all the "important" people get a ticket to safety if the world were to end.

No its not illuminati anything.  Its something that was on the news recently. It shows the "ethics" of the government and how much they care for us. Let me find it. Even if you dont believe in it, its good to know both sides. Which is why I enjoy a healthy debate. I love reading all of your different viewpoints.  Its healthy. As long as we remain respectful :)

Dont get me wrong. I do find connections between things that may or may not be considered a part of a consperiacy. I enjoy to remain blissfally unware because a lot of the time it just makes me feel uncomfortable. We dont have a voice in the matter and we all know that simply because we were never asked if such people could come here. We give the CDC so much credit but when they make a move like this, suddenly its as if theyre not qualified to follow protocol. So if its some kind of illuminati bs i dont want to watch it. If its actually coming from an even mildly credible source then ill watch it.

There is way too much ignorace about the subject, im not claiming to know it all or anything either but, it takes years for a vaccine to even be considered, the more time they have experimenting on how it effects mice & monkeys theyll know long term effects, it would be extreamly unethical to trial anything on a human without  having proper knowledge on how it would effect. Then it has to undergo human experimental treatment which is where these people come in to the picture.

20% is a lot. And that spreads very quickley. And in no way am I thinking of a Hollywood dramatized film. Im thinking of the reality. And that is there are people infected with ebola in our country. Whatever the precautionary measures the cdc is taking, there is still a chance that it could spread and that is extremely frightening to me. And no matter the chance....big or small....a chance is a chance. In the big picture. ....20% is a lot.

Mreeah I agree with you! People get nervous, but Ebola (and other like illnesses) has been in this country for decades, just in the form of a vial of fluid. This is the first time people with the disease are here, but trained professionals are handling them much better Herr than over seas. I also think people hear Ebola and automatically think of the movie Outbreak, but realistically the disease is not spread that way at all. A positive person could hang out for hours in a room with 10 people and most likely no more than 2 of them would present with illness.

Yep. Its scary. I don't think they should of brought them here but its the government and there going to anyways. We want to stay safe but it only takes one person to think there fine and go about there business and they interact with a even ten people that day and then its spred and there is no way to stop it. But we got to hope a vaccine is made even though its been there for years.

In my opinion, its better theyre coming to america, these people get to undergo experimental treatment that can quite possibly end this. We have isolation chambers that are well equipped for this instead of sending over specialists to places that have no control, no isolation chambers, they are way more at risk over there then here. Lets keep the people who are well informed alive. Lol

Yes I posted that a couple days back. Now we are all in danger. Gosh it looks like biblical prophecy are unfolding right in front of our eyes. Now we need to pray for ourselves seriously!

I find it even more disturbing that they have coincidentally been trying to find a vaccine for a virus that had been restricted to africa for years. Now theyre bringing it here. That.....is absolutely terrifying. The virus then spreads person-to-person, especially within families, hospitals, and during somemortuary rituals where contact among individuals becomes more likely. Are the united states citizens really going to trust the cdc has complete control over this? whatever your beliefs or opinions are, I think we should at least be aware of what is going on and be prepared for anything.

Oct3014 they've been Quarantining people I believe. Anyone in contact with someone who has Ebola is kept in quarantine for a period of time to make sure they don't develop symptoms before allowing them to travel.

^^ crazy you said that my sis thinks the samething about them being their test subjects lol. I'm in georgia and my first thought was dang they brought it here lol but I know they'll be isolated and all that good stuff but who knows what can happen it's still a little scary. My midwife has been there for about a month now so I was given a new doc but hopefully before they let her come back to the office she gets all the proper screening she needs done. I'm sure they wouldn't let her just walk on in like everything is all good especially being around pregnant women

I know the US has been attempting preparations on a vaccine for years (simply because ebola has been a known potential biological weapon) but its tough because there are 30 different strains of hemorrhagic fever. What I was reading yesterday is the CDC has one developing and should be ready to test on people by early Sept.
