Ellevated CPK

My doctor was alerted that I had elevated CPK. This elevated cpk showed up several times over a set time I do know there is three type of cpk, CPK bb, CPK mb and CPK mm.

I asked my doctor which type I had the doctor said he did not know and said nothing to worry about.
Mean while I'm left with a big question mark.  When your doctors is alerted of elevated CPK should the doctor be told of the type as well??????

First, you have to trust that your doctor is doing the best thing for you if you don't, I would get a 2nd and if necessay 3rd opinion until I was satisfied with the answers I received.  Try not to worry too much and have some faith in your doctor.  Take care, Sharon

CPK is an enzyme released by muscles when they are over worked or even damaged. Alot of folks that have had a heart attack have elevated CPK levels a few hours after the even occured.

If you work out a lot, your muscles could be sending out a warning signal to slow down.

I would think the doc would be told as to what type, if not, he should call the lab.
