Epilepsy with heart palpitations

Epilepsy with heart palpitations

Hi I am new to this forum but am always looking for information on epilepsy. My youngest daughter was hospitalised at 18mths with extended seizure and left sided hemiplegia. At the time it was thought to be a stroke or something but now they think it was just an extended seizure that was either the start of epilepsy or the cause. Her symptoms started at around 3 to 3 1/2 yrs old 3 and she has been on meds since she was 4 and has not had any complex seizures since then. Her seizures began with a funny feeling in her tummy, then would progress to her trying to vomit and then she would go blank, spin in circles etc and repeat "I'm sick, I'm sick" etc. From her first medication - Tegratol - she has not had any complex seizures that I am aware of. She is 8 now - will be 9 in Feb. The Tegratol stopped the complex but didn't halt the simples - gagging urp type of activity. Frisium was added and taken away and after 11mths she was started on Keppra. Keppra has been fantastic and halted everything. Keppra was so good we trialed stopping the Tegratol but reintroduced it after 3 months when her tummy started to feel funny again. My issue is now she is complaining every now and then that her heart is "beeping" (palpitating). Can this be a simple seizure. I called the neuro and he increased the Keppra slightly and they have reduced but still occur. Any advise or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
