Ever since I had a panic attack, I get twinges in my hip whenever I walk. any ideas?

A few weeks ago, I witnessed a huge blowout between a few friends, which triggered a major panic attack. Ever since that night, and starting that night, I get these sudden twinges in my right hip/lower back area when I walk. It feels like someone is Tazing me. It hurts, and I am getting kind of scared.

Sounds like you may have pinched a sciatic nerve. Rest, stretches and a chiropractor visit may help you. Also heating pad on your back along with 2 ibuprofen to help with inflammation.

You are entitled to your above remark/opinion to me, but next time, I would appreciate it if you do it via a PM, this is a health forum, not one where we criticize each other's answers, it is not very professional.

Thank you.

Hello Gloryrose~

Please forgive the honest mistake of suggesting you try Xanax, I usually look at a person's age first, etc, but this time, failed to do so.

I read your post again, it really appears to me that when you got so uptight and upset, it may have caused the muscles to get tight and you could have dislocated some vertebrae in that area. The fact that this happened today when walking up a hill tells me it is a type of possible nerve impingement. Maybe seeing a chiropractor would be of some help, I know I have had similar issues and a good adjustment always gets me back into shape. :-)

thank you. I noticed it happening again, but when I was walking uphill. It may have to do with a nerve.

you should not tell a 18 year old to take xanax for leg twitches! We have a huge pill problem in the united states already and this medication is addictive. You might experience things differently where you live but not here.

Oh lord the child is only 18 years old and should not even go close to Xanax. That is the problem with our world today and prescription drugs! Yes this blowout has you flustered but it is not going to make your actual joints in your body do stuff because of it. You might have twisted the wrong way and pinched your sciatic nerve which I have done personally so many times. This takes several weeks to actually correct itself and the only thing that works for me is Aleve. Try that and stay away from Xanan ;)

Hello~

It sounds anxiety related. I would see a doctor and have him put you on a very mild drug, such as Xanax to help with this.
