Excess fluid around the brain

My 10 month old son had a CT Scan and they told me he had excess fluid around the brain and that it happens to some children 9-12 months and they grow out of it 3-4 years old. The doctor stated it was benign and not to worry about. But then told me to be very careful he doesn't hit his head because he is more prone to brain bleeders. Should a specialist of some kind check this out and should it not be monitored? Any suggestions I'm worried.

I do not think that it would hurt anything by having as much information as possible. It may be that your doctor is correct, but then again by getting a second opinion it could only help you feel better and in turn help your son also.

Hello~I think if it were my son, I would have a specialist check out this issue. Since your son is so young and his body trying to get a good start in life, he needs the best advice and care he can receive, and yes, I strongly feel it should be monitored.
