Extreme Itchiness only before bedtime.

For the past month I have experienced extreme Itchiness all over my legs. It never strikes the same place in my legs two nights in a row but when it starts the pain and discomfort is all consuming. I've been to see a doctor who told me it was unspecified dermatitis and gave me anti itch cream which sincerely did nothing. And upon reaching back out to the doctor they told me they couldn't do more because they had nothing to go on. There is no rash, I have no bumps, there is no sign of physical change outside of the itching. I also have not changed anything environmental in the way of soaps or cleaners in the past five years. The only change has been a recent move from an inland desert to a coastal city in the past five months. Im also not menopausal or pregnant. There has been no changes in my hormone levels. Please anything you can say that will help me. Please. I feel like I'm going insane.
