Feeling Drunk/Woozy

Feeling Drunk/Woozy

I have had this overwhelming feeling of being off-balance for the past 2 months. I woke up today and could barely walk straight (like being drunk). The room doesnt spin, like with vertigo, but my whole being is off centre. I have no headaches, i don't feel stuffy with a cold or have any inner ear pain. My last GP said I had a form of vertigo and gave me exercises to help it go away. Didnt work. I am going to see a new GP soon but I dont know what to say. Should I suggest bloodwork? I have also been in multiple motor vehicle accidents in my lifetime. Would that cause this imbalance? I just dont know whats wrong.

I only take a low dose of Topamax and am on a few vitamins for everyday health and wellbeing.

Hi Saucy~Oh wow, this is a definitely a case where a chiropractor would help. I would be willing to bet that when you had the car accidents they caused you to have numerous vertebrae to become dislocated and this will surely cause all kinds of unsteadiness and that "drunk" feeling. I would see a chiropractor as soon as possible, I don't think you will need to see the GP afterwords as the situation will more than likely be cleared up.

Good luck

Thanks for your advice. I went to the GP and he was, of course, unhelpful. Sent me for bloodwork but wouldnt give me a referral for a neck xray/ct. So I think i will take your advice and seek out the chiropractor on my own. My neck is extremely sore to touch. 9 car accidents (none my fault) must have caused some sort of damage. Last time I saw a Chiro (@ 8 years ago), my xrays didnt look that great..the C-curve of my neck was completely gone..wonder what it looks like now?!

Cheers!

hey mike, finally had the neck xray done and it found nothing. cant afford the chiro here in australia but i have found that my neck is riddled with knots from my accidents and when i have them massaged out, i dont get the dizziness anymore. doctors dont believe me but it works.
