Oh sorry, I didn't realise this abscess is in your gums under your tooth.

But yes, you will need to get checked out by the dentist to make sure that all the abscess has gone.

Best wishes.

Although the antibiotics may kill the bacteria that is causing the abscess, if the core of the abscess does not come to the surface or is not removed by the doctor or the nurse, the abscess will continue to fester.

Apply a hot compress to draw the abscess to the surface.  If there is no broken skin on the abscess, you can purchase magnesium sulphate from the pharmacy and apply this to the abscess.  This is a drawing ointment and can only be used on unbroken skin.

Whilst you are taking the antibiotics, it would be advisable not to smoke the cannabis.

Make an appointment to see the doctor to be timed when you complete the course of antibiotics.  You may have to have the abscess drained and the core plug removed.  As mentioned above, if the core plug remains, the abscess can flare up again and just keep festering.

Best wishes.
