Hey, i also suffer from severe headaches, but all around my head, ive had them from years and been to the doctor many times about it, they said stress also, but ive been back in the last couple of months saying that nothing helps them and its not related to anything and they put me on ' amitriptyline' there anti-depressants but are given as pain killers in smaller dosages, i have to take one or two every night, they havent gotten rid of my headache's completely but they do make them more bearable, also maybe ask your doctor for a head scan? Because it could be more serious? xx
My daughters have gotten these for years. I've also been told it's from stress, but I really don't know.
One very consistent cause for both of them is:
A change is their vision prescription.
Because the dr. said it's tension, he told me to try warm compresses, which often helps.
BUT, the best solution is: IBUPROFEN (Advil, Motrin) IMMEDIATELY AT FIRST SIGN OF PAIN.
When my daughter was very young, I told her to lay down and wait for the headache to get better. Within an hour, she was trembling, nauseated -- it was pretty scary (so I thought it was a migraine???) My nephew also gets these, and he's the one who gave up the tip of Ibuprofen right away.
Stress normally causes headaches in the front of your head. If your blood pressure level is slightly high you could feel subtle to intense pressure around your temples and it radiate to the top of your head. Most associate stress with high blood pressure but I, for one, have and still do experience a lot of stress and my headaches are always in the front of my head and I am the Only one in my immediate family that does not have high blood pressure.
