How does drinking water help with weightloss?

How does drinking water help with weightloss?

I am 19 and am a male and when I asked about losing fat in particularly, and a lot of people said for me, drinking a lot of water throughout the day will definitely help.

So I ask, why and how does drinking plenty of water throughout the day (some say 2-4 liters) help with weight loss? What is the science behind it and the basic (in lamense terms) answer behind it?

I would never depend on Gatorade on a regular basis.  It's full of other stuff you don't want to have in excess, like artificial dyes and flavorings and excessive sugars.  I recommend going to mercola.com and looking up electrolytes/Himalayan salt.  He has very useful information on how to get proper electrolyte balance when exercising vigorously, which he himself does.  Also, do a search about potassium in particular.  If you look up these three items, you will get a well balanced viewpoint that will help you replenish your electrolytes the healthy way.  Take care of your health and vigor now while you are still very young, so you can avoid the health issues you obviously see in older adults you see around you.  I think Mercola has very good and balanced information and I think he has the answer to your question if you're wanting a healthier option than those commercial sports drinks.

good hydration is essential to carry toxins from your blood (ammonia, urea) which are byproducts of digestion of protiens, out in the form of urine. You notice how when you drink a lot of water your pee is lighter? thats because it is less concentrated with urea.unnecsasry toxins in the blood can make you tierd and not feel well decreasing your desire to excercise. being well hydrated also keeps your blood volume at a normal level and your blood pressure normal, low blood pressure from being dehydrated can make you feel weak. your kidneys regulate how much water you excrete in the form of pee, the more you drink, the more you pee, the more toxins you flush out. But the main reason i think people are telling you to drink water to loose weight is because water has 0 calories and if youre drinking water instead of soda or sweet jucies you will cut many calories out by simply choosing water instead. Also drinking plenty of water can curb people's appetites. I caution you to not forget about electrolyes (sodium/potassium/calcium) especially if youre sweating because you loose electrolyte through your sweat. I think gatorade is a great choice for someone after excercising, even with the sugar in it, you need to replenish your stores of electrolytes and glucose or else you will feel weak the next day. good luck with the weight loss!
