How long for antibiotics to work?

Hello,

I was given Trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole  for pain in the perineum area(male). Doctor thinks and infection is causing the pain/inflammation. I am on by 3rd day of the medication. I did notice that the redness in the area went away, but the inflammation is still present. Inflammation causes discomfort and pain when wearing underwear, walking, or sitting.

It is normal for antibiotics to take more than 3 days to work? Doctor said, I should feel better by Sunday, but it is Monday, and inflammation is still present(not as bad as Friday, but still great discomfort).

Hello~

Everyone's body reacts differently to antibiotics or any drug for that matter. I see that you posted this on the 18th, I hope you are better, but if you aren't, then I highly suggest you seeing or calling your physician and letting him know.
