How long until kidney infection turns serious?

I've been having symptoms of kidney infection for the past few days. Bad lower back pain, fever, nausea, etc. I can't go to the doctor for a few more days, my clinic is pretty busy and isn't open til tomorrow anyway. I was just wondering how long does it usually take to cause damage or turn into sepsis? I have had sepsis before but I don't remember much from them because I also had mono and an infection so was out of it. Any help is appreciated.

If this has been ongoing for several days, especially the fever, I would strongly urge you to go to an Urgent Care facility or walk in clinic as soon as possible. Since you have had sepsis before, you know it is something you absolutely should NOT ignore! Just see a doctor as soon as you possibly can!
