I have a weird feeling in my head. What is it likely to be?

I am debating seeing a doctor for this weird sensation that I get sometimes. It's a weird feeling from the top of my head and the back of my throat I guess. I don't really know how to explain it. I know yesterday I had a headache on the top of my head and had some face pain as well. Sometimes breathing in or having my head in certain positions could also make it worse. I also get random shooting "pains" at the top/back of my head. Mostly when my head is in a position other than normal. I don't know if I can really call those pains. I've had those for a longtime and they seem to just hit once and then disappear. It makes me feel like I could pass-out even though I never have.

I also suffer from an anxiety disorder if that means anything, but the sensation is very real. It does cause a lot of anxiety/worry for me. If I must go to the doctor I will. I also have chronic sinus problems, although the sensation feels really foreign to me.

Are you treating your anxiety disorder? That is the first place to start, I recognize a lot of what you describe.  Add anxiety to other maladies humans suffer and I know how unsettling it can become. Weird sensations, dizziness, random sensations of shooting pains, numbness, pins and needle feelings are fairly common.  You may be bordering on Panic attacks, that is when my world can really feel "unreal".  They can come at anytime for no reason.  I have bolted awake from sleep in panic for no reason.  Your sinus problems could definitely be putting pressure on some of the facial nerves causing the face pain, and anxiety makes us over analyze symptoms sometimes to the point our brains start continual "scanning" for something wrong.  Anxiety is very treatable with medication, taken only as needed, or in more extreme cases like mine, everyday for life.  After decades, I can tell you, no anxiety is so much better than anxiety that causes a decreased sense of well being.  See your doctor, sinus problems can affect your balance and feeling of stability.  If you feel unstable, anxiety kicks in because there is a problem.
