I have high cholesterol and pregnant

My doctor just recently told me I have high cholesterol and I was shocked. I'm 20 weeks pregnant and I thought I was doing my best in eating healthy. I moved 4 months ago to my Korean mother-in-law's  house and my eating habits changed. I thought I was eating healthy foods bcuz she's diabetic and always saying not to eat junk food. I've noticed that I consumed white rice at least 2x a day, 4-5 x a week. In korean cultures rice is a main part of every meal. Most of the side dishes were vegetables but a tap bit salty. She did cook fatty pork and beef. But for two months I did not eat much bcuz of bad morning sickness and lost 10 pounds. I'm currently 127 lbs and finally the past months started eating more food  well her food of course. So I'm obviously shocked about this. Before moving to her home , I was at my parents and they eat healthy food. They are Mexican but they cut out a lot of mexican food and made some changes in their eating habits. They eat more vegetables than meat . They eat oatmeal/soymilk every morning and watch their portions. They love to make fresh fruit/vegetable drinks. How did I develop high cholesterol in a short amount of time?  I think I'm going to start cooking my own food.
