I was just in the woods, how can I do a thorough search for deer ticks and should i get tested for Lyme's disease?

It's early spring in western Massachusetts and I'm concerned about deer ticks and subsequent lyme disease. I've looked, but haven't found anything. Should I go get tested for Lyme's?

Hi I am also concerned about deer ticks!  I live in southeast Ma!  The tick situation is crazy and out of control!  Its only the beginning of spring and I have seen a few wood ticks on my dog and 1 on my 5yo son!  No deer ticks yet but im sure that they are around!  As for getting tested if you were just in the woods lyme might not show on a blood test yet!  Look for symptoms like the red bulls eye, muscle aches, fatique. If you get any of those then I would see your doctor!  Also when you go out in the woods make sure you wear a bugspray with deet in it!  GOOD LUCK!!

Only if it would make you feel better. If you do not think you checked well enough, you can have a trusted friend look as well. If you do notice any difference in the way you feel, then get checked.
