INR too high...Alcohol related?
I'm 24 year old female. In July I was admitted to the hospital for a pulminary embolism. After genetic testing they found I have Factor V leiden. Since then they've put me on Coumadin - 12mg. For the last 3 months my INR has been right at 2.1. Yesterday I went it and it jumped to 3.8. It had only been 3 weeks since my previous pro time test. I haven't changed my diet except for the fact last weekend I went out with some friends. I probably had 6 drinks over an 8 hour period. Did my INR jump because of the alcohol or could it be something else?

Yes, alcohol can elevate INR levels.  Diet and alcohol can affect INR levels.
