Since coliform is pathogenic you may need to see your dr to give u perhaps another type of antibiotics. The thing is you must finish the courses of antibiotics for them to be effective otherwise pathogens regrow. Also have you checked your water quality, wash vegetables prior to eating, check where you get ur meats etc. hope this is helpful.
When you are prescribed with an antibiotic by your doctor, it is important to take the medication as prescribed and to finish the course. Even though you may feel better a day or two after starting the medication, all the bacteria causing the infection will not have been killed off, and as you have experienced the problem flares up again.
Sometimes one course of antibiotics is not enough and you may require another course.
You should make an appointment to see your doctor again and take a morning mid stream urine sample for testing. A swab of your penis will also be a good idea to have done as this will show any fungal problems that would need treating with a an antifungal cream or antifungal tablets.
If you are still having pain in your scrotum, it is highly likely that you have an infection and will require another course of antibiotics. The doctor may wish to refer you to a urologist and/or take another blood test or may consider sending you for an ultrasound scan.
Whilst you have this problem, do not attempt to have sex - wait until you are well healed. If you still have an erection problem afterwards, that will need to be looked at to see if there are other health issues that you may be causing this.
Do you have any other illnesses like diabetes or on any other medications? These things can cause erectile dysfunction as well as lowering your libido (sexual drive).
Does your wife have any itching, soreness or any discharge in her vaginal area? If so, it is likely that you both have a fungal problem and will both need treating for that.
Do bear in mind too that being on antibiotics, not only kills off the bad bacteria, but also the good bacteria that are essential for our well being. When this happens we can get fungal overgrowth that can cause symptoms of itching, soreness and/or discharge. Antifungal creams for the genital area are used and sometimes a doctor will prescribe a medication to take by mouth.
Some antifungal remedies can be purchased from the pharmacy without a prescription. But my advice is for you to ask your doctor to take a swab from around your penis. If you wife is experiencing any problems, she too should get a swab taken to identify the bacteria/fungus.
In the meantime, do not use soaps or shower gels to wash our genitals. Use water and if you want to use something, then use a soap that has the same pH level as our skin and those without any perfume. Baby washes should be fine. As a home remedy for the discomfort on the tip of your penis, you can apply thick natural set yogurt to your clean penis. You can apply as much as is required for as long as you wish. It will not harm your penis. Yogurt will help reduce any inflammation and the discomfort that you are feeling.
Best wishes.
