Ingested behind the counter Medicinal Alcohol - Woried!!!!!

Hi there,

Last saturday night, I was very drunk and found a bottle of behind the counter medicinal rubbing alcohol. I did as a joke about half a shot, not sure maybe a whole one. Hte night went by and eventually I passed out. I was fine next day, but I started worrying about the effects and what damage I may have done.

I couldn't sleep the next couple days, and now I been having severe anxiety due to the fact of a nagging headache that wont go away thinking I may have screwed up something in my brain.

Needless to say that I suffer of Panic disorder and I've been in similar situations because of my alcohol abuse, but I just want to see if someone has done something as stupid as this, or if you think I should be fine. I have a doctor's appointment until Monday, couldn't find any earlier...

I know, I've seek help, and I always fall in the same path. I'm going to AA today, see if I can stick to it. I'm hoping someone with the same experience may be able to assure it will be fine, here in this forum or there, same as Doc. I keep having this headache since Sunday, and now all my neck muscles are tense, forgetting things I usually remember right away, feel slow and lost in space.

Denatured alcohol contains a toxin which affects the optic nerve, which can result in blidness. Drinking this liquid is plan stupid.

Probably, after this time there will be no ill effects, however contact poison control for an opinion.

If anything were to happen, it would have by now.

You were on here over a year ago with the same sort of situation. You also fear HIV and STD's. I think now would be a great time to get help with your anxiety.
