Just a question on contact lenses.

Hi. I was just wondering if one should apply sunscreen before or after putting on their contact lenses. I know that oil bases products affects contact lenses quite a bit and was just wondering as I like to apply my sunscreen all over my face.

Hands should ALWAYS be freshly washed and dried prior to placing contacts into the eyes.

Definitely after, anything that is on your finger, such as the sunscreen will also get on the lens and could cause all kinds of trouble with your eyes. Our sight is too precious to have anything happen.

AFTER!!!  You don't want anything but freshly washed hands and/or saline solution having direct contact with your eyes at any time.  Forget about your vision being blurred due to sunscreen remnants on your lenses...think about the ingredients in sunscreen (zinc, product preservatives, etc.) and ask yourself whether you want them smeared over  your contact lenses that are adhered to your eyeballs for an extended period of time.  ;-) I think not.

Sorry, but as a fellow contact lens wearer of 15 years, my optometrist told me a long time ago:  when it comes to your eyes, there is very little room for error.  Hope this helps, and have a great summer!

If the sunscreen gets in your eyes it will mess the contact lenses so try not to put sunscreen on your forehead so when you sweat don't get in you eyes , it will get it dirty and you won't be able to see good and is going to hurt your eyes
