KIDNEY DAMAGE ?

KIDNEY DAMAGE ?

I am 53yrs.old. Last year I went to a graduation party and had 3 beers, the next thing that I knew was I have to urinate. When I got to the bathroom there was a line. I had to go really bad, but I held it in until I felt like I was going to explode. When I finally got in the bathroom it felt like my bladder and prostate were going into spasms, but I finally went. I am not a big drinker I have a few beers now and then, but I noticed that now for some reason no matter if I eat while I'm drinking or drink water between beers, the next day I wake up and I feel like I drank a keg instead of 3 or 4 beers. I feel drunk. Could I have damaged my kidneys or liver by holding in the urine for so lomg ? I have had blood test and a CT scan with contrast and they all came back normal. And something else that is strange, I don't seem to get drunk while I am drinking, it hits me the next day. Anyone have any ideas ? My doctor says, I'm strange !

I don't think you have damaged your kidneys, it takes more than that for that to happen. I do think, however, that since you do not drink much, that when you do, your body reacts faster than those who do drink a lot.

Just because you don't react like most folks does not mean you are strange. It may just take awhile for the effects to reach your brain, you might be allergic to alcohol, some folks are, if so, this will give you some odd symptoms. I would see another doctor who is more sympathetic to your problem, possibly a kidney specialist if you are really concerned.
