Knots inside of hands/fingers

Knots inside of hands/fingers

I have knots growing at the base of my fingers under the skin.  What could be causing this and is there anything to prevent future ones from appearing / growing.  They are sometimes real sore, then the pain stops, then it will sometimes return.  It is difficult holding a pen or pencil.

I visited a doctor who said they could be drained by puncturing and squeezing the thick mucus out.  Is there an alternative like dissolving these knots?

What causes these: food / diet, blood pressure or anything else?????

Thanks!

What did your Dr say they were called? I'm wondering if they might be ganglia, I think that's how it's spelled, cysts. These are cysts that grow down your fingers, thumbs, wrists and other places that have what I would describe as little tentacles. You might want to see another Dr about this. If this is what's going on they can be removed.

remar is correct the only problem with a Ganglion Cyst it could come back. The Medical community doesn't know what causes them.
