Left Abdominal Pain

I was diagnosed with a cyst on my right ovary about two months ago, however I have been experiencing much pain on the left side? I went to a OB/GYN and he believe its painful menstruation only...I have never had difficulty with my menses before and suddenly this has changed and they are now very painful. When pushing on my lower abdominal area I can feel a hardened vein-type shape almost parallel to my hip bone that is quite tender. I have had an increase in intentinal gas and bloating after everymeal. My stools seem to be thinner as well. I was given Naproxin for the 'menstral pain' but it doesn't seem to be helping. My condition worsens as menses are closer and persists at its worst until they cease. Any help would be much appreciated.

I too have suffered from ovarian cysts...and all the symptoms you are describing are classic.  The fact that you are having pain on your right side could be nothing more than what is called "referral" pain.  Many times with abdominal pain, you experience the pain on the opposite side of the actual problem.  

Ovarian cysts often disrupt your menstrual cycle...and can cause it to become more painful, heavier or lighter, etc.  I would follow up with your OB/GYN to see if the cyst is growing...or if it has ruptured.

I have what I believe is the area of my right ovary for 3 out of 4 weeks of the month. I am tired all the time no matter how much sleep I get, I have no eenergy. I have pain in my lower back and hips and I am gassy after eating no matter what I eat. I'm bloated and just uncomfortable in anything other than sweats.
