Leg pain

I am 26 years old and for the most part pretty healthy. Work out on occasion but that is just as of recently. For a few years I have been experiencing a sporadic pain in my right lower leg. It's more so located inbetween my calf and my shin on the inner side. When it's not hurting, you can feel a lump but it's very small, like a cm in diameter. Every so often though, it's very painful and it's almost as if it swells up (the lump that is). Sometimes I am sleeping when it happens and it's so bad it wakes me up. There is really nothing I can do to comfort myself except rub around the area because if I touch it it's extremely painful. It's mostly like a sharp pain only in that spot.  Touching it when it's not hurting is still pretty tender, but nowhere near the pain it brings on by itself. It's not obvious to the eye, only to touch. Not warm, just a really painful lump. Any idea what this might be?

Uploading an image would be helpful. Sounds like a puss formation due to infection in the hair follicle. And if that be the case you could apply some hot salt water with the cotton to help it come out.

Hello~It sounds like you are having muscle spasms, and your hip and lower back could be the cause. I recommend seeing a chiropractor, he/she will take an x-ray of the area and be able to tell you what is going on. After a few adjustments and some stretching exercises, you should start to feel a lot better.
