Low WBC

My WBC has been low on 3 separate occasions - Jan-2009-3.6,  July-2010 - 4, Jan-2011 - 2.9.  I don't have a fever.  My doctore wants me to come back in 3 weeks to retake my blood test.  What are the chance of something bad?

I know it is hard to not get worked up about something before you know.  It is hard to say.  It is better to figure out what is going on early.  I know that is not really the answer you are looking for but try to stay positive.  Let us know.

It depends on how much your WBC is low! If it is not far from normal range, you shouldn't be worried. Some people have very slightly low WBC genetically but it doesn't also mean that you shouldn't take it serious.

Low WBC could be result of some viral infection or autoimmune disorders; however, your doctor is aware of all possible causes, so my suggestion is go and do the blood tests again and again.

I would get the test again and then let the doctor take it from there. Try not to worry too much until something final has been determined, it could be nothing.
