Thank you for the information on Carpal Tunnel - I had no idea it could cause so many problems. I'm glad that you were able to help Rieks and to give us this information.
I'm so glad you are getting some answers, all the best to you and your daughter..
Dear Murphyslaw
Thank you so much for replying - she went to the Docter yesterday, and you will not believe it, she has a severe Calcium deficiency - The Dr also drew bloodto test her Liver, and some other tests - she definitely has Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, and will have to go for an operation some time
God bless, keep well

Good morning,
I would definately not sit to long on this. I'm hoping that a specialist diagnosed your daughter with the Carpal tunnel. Having said that are are numerous nerve disorders that can cause numbness and tingling, Carpal tunnel is one of them up and including some incidents of tics (speech or musculoskeletal) It would be of interest to your treating professional how often these "tics occur" and to what length they are affecting your daughter. Some less frightening nerve disorders can be relatively harmless, some others not so much, but these more serious conditions would likely be in progression over a long period of time. There are several mapping tests that can be conducted,Further to what has happened for your daughter already testing might include electromyographic or nerve conduction velocity testing to determine the exact severity of nerve damage. These tests involve stimulating the median nerve with electricity and measuring the resulting speed and strength of the muscle response, as well as recording speed of nerve transmission across the carpal tunnel. Start back at the beginning, document ALL incidents of spasm, speech interruption, lip pursing, everything you are able to capture that you feel relates to the "carpal tunnel". Bring that to at least one specialist and have them investigate accordingly, I would choose a neurologist as one of my consultations for sure!! Remember that there are highly qualified and available surgeons that can correct this if in fact it is a severe case of Carpal Tunnel. I understand cost is a factor but this is why we always need to document, investigate, consult, understand and treat accordingly. My concern for your daughter is that something less benign might be behind the face and speech pattern of involement. Good luck
Thank you so much, I appreciate your precious time to reply
Regards
Marié
Have you had her Magnesium levels checked? She may need to have a complete blood lab workup to determine the cause of her problem. It is doubtful that carpal tunnel could cause this. Some form of epilepsy can cause something similar. (my grandson has something that drops him to the floor and he can move his eyes but nothing else). If her mineral levels are okay, you might want to make an appointment with a neurologist. I hope things go well for you.
