Medical Files Lost?! Please help!

I went to a new doctor for the first time because my original doctor was a pediatrician and I was 23. She forgot blood work tests, she would forget to fill out paperwork, she was extremely rude any time I would ask for anything, she would make me wait in a dressing gown for hours before helping me etc. I had to keep going to her because the main reason I was seeing her was to get paperwork (consisting of a general exam, a pelvic and rectal exam, and blood work) filled out for an overseas trip for a nonprofit. (I couldnt change doctors midway because I would have to start over again on the paperwork and that would be way too expensive) She has delayed my trip several months due to many things she has neglected to do. Ive already had to talk to the hospital that she works through and theyve made her fix things she filled out incorrectly etc). Anyways, I called to get my medical records faxed to the nonprofit I was going on the trip with and they said they LOST MY FILES/medical records. The only thing Ive done wrong (and its taken her 5 months from asking her to fill out the paperwork to getting it faxed finally) is I didnt get a copy of the paperwork last time I saw her because I assumed they would have it on file. In retrospect, that was a bad decision. I have a lot more details about this case and what went wrong but Im sure I would bore you with them all. Im wondering if they said that because they dislike me since I complained about their office. Is there anything I can do?! I dont think they keep records elsewhere (I called the hospital to ask).

I contacted them again today and the secretary seemed annoyed and told me she doesnt have time for this and that I should ask someone else. I was confused and said no one else has these documents that were filled out at you office so she said she will try and ask the nurse to help her find them. If they dont I will call the medical board. Im so upset about this. Thanks for the advice opinmin!

Report her to the Medical Board in your state immediately.  You can tell the office what you are doing if you like and then see if the reocrds suddenly appear.  If they don't, she still needs to be reported anyways.  Her behavior is unacceptable.
